For the 7th time, the international and Romanian experts met at RENEXPO® SOUTH-EAST EUROPE in order to exchange know-how, present experiences from the practice and offer advice gained through research and development and to ensure this knowledge is quickly transferred into action.

The innovation conference took place over three days parallel to the trade fair and included:

  •   Presentations about the new innovation theories and technologies;
  •   Experiences from practice;
  •   Top-class speakers from economics and research fields;
  •   International meeting place for decision makers and experts.


During the events international conferences, workshops and forums were organized on:

  •   Solar Energy - 6th International conference;
  •   Waste2Energy - Exploring opportunities - current and future synergies;
  •   Hydropower - 7th International conference - Small hydropower in Romania;
  •   Energy efficiency and Cogeneration - International conference - Energy efficiency through cogeneration;
  •   Energy efficiency - International workshop - Energy efficiency in buildings;
  •   Biogas - International forum - Biogas in Romania;
  •   AREL - Romanian electricians' forum.


Waste2Energy Conference with the topic "Exploring opportunities - current and future synergies" held on 19th of November explored opportunities for energy obtained using waste industry in Romania through legislation and investment opportunities, collaboration / partnership, the use of innovative technologies and practices, as well as the future of waste industry in Romania in terms of its use in the market and renewable energy alternatives.

Presentations were made by experts from Romania and abroad (Spain, Germany, Denmark) and the themes discussed were:

  •   European Strategies;
  •   Waste hierarchy and the importance of obtaining energy from waste;
  •   Combustion systems for non-conventional waste;
  •   Adapting thermo chemical processes for waste recovery;
  •   From plastic to liquid fuel;
  •   Health risk assessment associated with long-term exposure to action of hazardous organic compounds, produced by the incineration of municipal waste;
  •   Transfer household waste to clean energy with biogas from dry fermentation;
  •   Sludge - waste energy or renewable resource;
  •   Project development opportunities for obtaining energy from waste in Romania and Central and South-East Europe.


It was for the first time when REECO in collaboration with Green Planet Association organised an international conference on Waste2Energy in the framework of the 7th edition of RENEXPO® SOUTH-EAST EUROPE and at the conference were present: participants from the waste industry; actors from the energy market and the waste production market with energy value (ex. plastic, wood); actors from the big energy consumers market; renewable energy suppliers; national, central and local authorities; research groups from energy and waste field; environment consulting NGOs; Mass-Media.

Statistic data:

  •   92 exhibitors from 12 European countries;
  •   2100 visitors, from which 30% international visitors;
  •   450 participants at the conferences.


The conclusion of the conference was that the renewable energy is the key for the future and energy in Romania and in South-East Europe.

ROMENVIROTEC 2014 - International trade fair for technology and environmental protection equipment, took place between 26th and 29th March 2014, at Romexpo Exhibition Centre, Bucharest.

ROMENVIROTEC 2014 brings together the most important players in the market that will exhibit new products and technologies, offering to visitors the opportunity to be up to date with the market trends, to purchase products and services at reasonable prices and to negotiate directly with suppliers. Moreover, the participating companies will have a complete and updated view regarding the specialized market and will enjoy the opportunity of coming into direct contact with existing or potential clients, with the possibility of signing important business contracts.

These are the 4 words that briefly describe ROMENVIROTEC 2014, "New technologies, new ideas, new services, new business". Attila Korodi, Minister of Environment and Climate Change opened the XXI - edition of the Environmental Fair Romenvirotec 2014, international exhibition for technology and equipment for environmental protection, developed under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change which brought together companies from Romania, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Hungary.
In his opening message minister Attila official stressed that "Romania must have the market to provide technological solutions for environmental protection to achieve European standards in this area. Our country can apply and attain environmental protection if the market that gives technological solutions is effervescent and if it has the financial and technological capacity to implement what we think the agenda should be for the next period.

With the evolving technologies and by implementing sustainable development strategies through the implementation of European legislation, we have managed to ensure today consistent and fair standard of living and quality for European citizens and also to become more ecofriendly through the technologies we use for our development".
